Kongsberg Maritime and EGGS win the IF Design Award for EcoAdvisor

Kongsberg Eco Advisor is a decision support system aiming to optimise vessel operations, reducing fuel consumption and carbon footprint. The tool results from a joint 'Intelligent Efficiency' research project between Kongsberg Maritime, vessel operator DOF Subsea AS (DOF), Sintef, NORCE, and Innovation Norway.Invited by Kongsberg Maritime, EGGS entered the project to ensure the technology was translated into a viable and user-friendly tool.

EA is a digital app used by the Captain, DP operator, and Chief engineer; UI is located on the vessel’s bridge and engine Room.

The solution is a circular process:

a) Utilising sensors to identify emission reduction opportunities.

b) Data analysis for optimal balance of efficiency and safety.

c) Live feedback on savings from followed advice to raise crew awareness.

d) Bridging the gap between crew, managers, and charterers through reporting.
