When developing the Bilista brand, we took great care to create an identity with a solid base and a clear position. EGGS has helped identify everything from vision and values to visual identity, brand core, and copy. 

One of the first services to be included in the Bilista portal is that of Flyt – a service for road toll passages. We digitalized the existing service and incorporated it into the Bilista platform.

Gjensidige Mobility Group wishes to provide its B2C customers with a holistic and relevant offering within private mobility. The insurance market itself is a saturated one, but car owners have many other needs that extend beyond insuring their vehicles. How could Gjensidige Mobility Group identify these and create commercial and relevant, ready-for-market services around them? EGGS entered as a strategic partner in the project to determine the opportunity space and landed on the concept of Bilista – a corporate startup in the form of a digital platform for car owners.

Creating a viable product concept for car owners

During the concept phase, we explored and tested different concepts and their potential in the market – consumers' willingness to pay, desirability, and viability. The team worked iteratively, continuously testing everything from design concepts to UI and UX. 

The concept of Bilista was developed through thorough market research, gap analysis, and business 

. We could identify a significant need in the market for a product that allowed car owners to gather all the services related to their cars in one place, independently of car manufacturer. An offering that could provide a holistic and smooth experience of being a car owner. As a solution to this, we developed the Bilista

Bilista is designed as an app where car owners can connect a series of relevant services and service providers in the same place – for example, Flyt (for road tolls) and booking of EU controls, discount program for car related services, get road side assistance, information about your vehicles from Statens Vegvesen etc. We’re continuously adding and exploring new services and service providers to offer users in the portal.

Bilista is connected to several different service providers, such as Flyt. Users can pay bills, order toll tags, calculate toll costs, and more. The app automatically updates information about the vehicle via Statens Vegvesen. 

The Bilista concept has been developed and delivered from ideation to go-to-market product. By working cross-disciplinary with business modeling and prototyping, product concept, branding, and UX/UI, we created a viable, desirable, and scalable solution. Apart from allowing Gjensidige Mobility Group to own the customer contacts, it provides the customers with a smooth, hassle-free experience, gathering the services they need for their car ownership in one place. After launching january 2023, the app has already gotten more than 75 000 users and keeps growing every day.

Market relevance, readiness, and scalability

The Bilista symbol is the core of the visual identity, and the strongest visual brand element. It is the first visual the user encounters  (in the App store/Google play). The symbol alone will give direct associations to Bilista.   The symbol is based on the environment in which the car moves - the road. The brand's symbol is built up in 2D of these roads - consisting of curves, lines, meeting points, intersections and angles, in combination with the letter "b", and correlates with the symbol of mother-brand Gjensidige.
